WisePay Updates
For our December release:
What is a batch payment?
A batch payment allows you to pay multiple invoices within a single transaction using saved credit cards or bank account/ACH details. This may be performed by yourself, on behalf of your customers, or by your customers. After all the invoices are selected for a batch payment, the total outstanding amount can either be paid in full or alternatively, an amount can be allocated per invoice to make a partial payment.
Multiple payments, one transaction
We understand how frustrating it can be to process several individual invoices, which is why our team has worked hard to bring you the full functionality you deserve and need.
Paying multiple invoices at once can be time-consuming for your and your customers. Manually processing each invoice payment leads to various issues that can hurt operational efficiency and financial accuracy. This process consumes valuable staff hours and reduces overall productivity, whether that involves two or three invoices or 10-20. The reconciliation of multiple payments is known to cause errors and delays, slowing down the smooth operation of both your business and your customers' businesses. The updated batch payment process aims to alleviate these issues, allowing you to process multiple invoices seamlessly and improve productivity for you and your customers. For more information, please see our updated Multi-Invoice Batch Payments with WisePay documentation.
For our November release:
An End to Geo-Fencing
For partners and their customers that previously could not use WisePay or Wise-Sync due to being "geo-blocked," you can now connect to our application via an edge location that is closer to where they are (often in the same country).
The Amazon Web Servces (AWS) infrastructure that hosts our applications is based in Australia, which can pose challenges for some partners in the US and other countries whose security governance does not allow their web traffic to go outside of their country of origin. To better serve our partners with these restrictions, we have put an edge optimization layer (AWS CloudFront) in front of the application to allow web traffic requests to be terminated at the closest edge location.
For our September release:
Looking for a simple way to onboard your customers to automatic payments? Achieve this with our new payer onboarding experience!
- We are excited to announce the launch of our new payer onboarding experience, providing a simple way for your customers to get up and running with WisePay so that you can get paid on time, every time.
- Say good bye to disjointed processes with the new and improved payer onboarding experience. The onboarding process is totally revamped and now comes with a simple, easy-to-follow, merchant-branded user interface.
Key features include:
- A new customizable partner-branded 'Welcome' email.
- Your customers can effortlessly save a payment method via a partner-branded interface.
- The newly saved payment method can be use to easily embrace automatic payments.
- You can find all of the details in our Onboarding Your Customers to WisePay documentation.
For our September release:
The following bug fixes and enhancements are included in this release:
- Sync an invoice when an unsynced invoice is opened from a Payer email.
- Standalone and WisePay for PSA merchants can see if their automatic payment services fail to match a payer or a billing term, allowing them to resolve the error.
- WisePay for PSA or standalone invoice now gets queued for an automatic payment (if the automatic billing term configuration matches) when a user clicks Download from the accounting platform button.
- "WisePay Payment" now displays as a payment source on the Psa invoice for Wise-Sync/WisePay real-time payments.
- For active WisePay for PSA merchants, invoices that are not yet synced to Wise-Sync now display a "Invoice not synced" message in the POD.
For our July release:
Take Payments from Inside Your ConnectWise PSA
- All ConnectWise PSA/WisePay partners looking to initiate an invoice payment from inside their PSA can now do so via the WisePay POD, located on your ConnectWise PSA Invoice screen.
- The POD was previously only functional for WisePay partners that also had Wise-Sync. The WisePay POD now loads successfully for partners with a WisePay for PSA account, allowing all WisePay partners to initiate Online payments as well as Terminal payments (US only) directly within ConnectWise PSA.
For our May release:
Quote to Cash
- Tired of manually allocating downpayment invoices to CPQ payments in your accounting package? When you collect WisePay payments for a quote, you can now have a downpayment invoice created in PSA, allowing you to hold the allocation of the downpayment for a project, ticket, or sales order at a later date. You no longer need to manually create the downpayment invoice once the CPQ quote is paid, eliminating the need to manually allocate that downpayment invoice to the credit note in your accounting system. For more information, check out CPQ - WisePay Integration - Order Porter Quote Payments.
For our February release:
- Removal of the Pay without Invoice Number button from the Merchant Quicklink:
- From time to time, some of our merchants have experienced a BIN attack, where hackers have used the Pay without Invoice button to test out stolen credit cards. For all of these attacks, the Merchant Quicklink was added to the merchant's website or emailed to their customers.
- The Quicklink was intended for merchant-use only, used by technicians in the field who may have needed to take a payment on-site, or by staff who do not have access to WisePay and need to take payment upfront in lieu of an invoice. To mitigate the risk of these BIN attacks in the short time, we have made the decision to hide the Pay without Invoice button from the Merchant Quicklink. This is a temporary measure until we can add more handling to block these duplicate and BIN style transactions. Additionally, we are working to create a new Payer Experience and develop a unique payer quicklink that can be placed on a merchant's website (without the Pay without Invoice button).
- If you need to take a payment in lieu of an invoice, log in to WisePay and go to Pay Now > Prepayment Option.
