Xero Validation Error: Item code '{productID / Non-ProductID}' is not valid

How can this happen?

When special characters are used in a ConnectWise Record such as an '&' can result in the batch or record failing as the escaping of special characters can break the HTML request for the batch, product search or other functions. Special characters that are known to cause issues include:

  • |
  • &
  • #
  • '
  • <>

Solution:

  1. Update the Product ID - such as replacing the character '&' with the word 'and'

  2. Re-sync the invoice
